HWR Original Prosper Jer 29:11
HWR original apx 8 x 8 water color in a fabulous ornate vintage plate frame. Art by Sandy King
I have had this image on my heart for some time. I did the smaller one months ago in my art journal but have felt lead to recreate it is a shape more conducive for a soldered jewelry pendant. The concept is from Matthew 14. This is when Jesus walks on the lake out to the boat off shore. Peter is frightened but Jesus tells him to get out of the boat and come to him. While focused on Jesus, Peter is fine, but when he takes his eye off of him and starts looking at the storm around him he starts to sink. He cries out and Jesus saves him. The lesson for me personally is to keep my eyes on the Lord and trust that he will take care of me no matter how the storms of life rage. I also feel that “getting out of the boat” can mean to get out of your comfort zone or to push forward. To take a leap of faith. To believe in your dreams and to just take a step and see what unfolds. This also reminds me of Jeremiah 29:11 “for I know the plans I have for you. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans for a hope and a future.”
